Hi! I’m Kristina.

I’m committed to sharing my experience and skills to help power change and advance a more equitable, inclusive, sustainable, and humane world.

With 14 years of experience in writing, editing, and communications, I’ve held professional roles across the nonprofit sector and online media space, including with Kids’ Orchestra, the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy, Michigan League of Conservation Voters, and One Green Planet.

I currently work as the Director of Strategic Communications for the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation (GTRCF). I hold a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Writing, both from Grand Valley State University.

I currently volunteer with Elk Rapids Community Cupboard and Let These Animals Live Cat Sanctuary. I am also a Board Director for the Community Cupboard and for Immigration Law and Justice Michigan.

Born in Detroit to Croatian immigrants, I’ve lived across Michigan, in Croatia, and in Louisiana. Now residing in Northern Michigan, I share my life with my husband, David, two rescue cats, and a rescued pit bull terrier.

In my spare time, I love reading, spending time with my family and friends, fawning over interior design, cooking and baking, writing, going on adventures, traveling, and playing board games.

SNAPSHOTS FROM MY TRAVELS

Kristina was a pleasure to work with. She excels at synthesizing complex information and communicating it clearly and succinctly, without dumbing it down. She worked on several projects with a major client — they were very happy with her work and specifically asked for her to work on one of their most important writing projects. She works well both as a team member and individual contributor. I highly recommend her!
