Hi! I’m Kristina.

I’m a writer and nonprofit communications professional.

With nearly 15 years of communications experience, I’ve held professional roles across the nonprofit sector and online media space and hold a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Writing, both from Grand Valley State University.

I currently work as the Director of Strategic Communications for the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation. I also run The Typewritery for fun—it’s a creative pop-up studio that specializes in custom typewritten poems and poetry experiences.

In addition to my work, I volunteer with Elk Rapids Community Cupboard and Let These Animals Live Cat Sanctuary. I serve on the boards of the Community Cupboard and Immigration Law and Justice Michigan.

Born in Detroit to Croatian immigrants, I’ve lived across Michigan, in Croatia, and in Louisiana. Now residing in Northern Michigan, I share my life with my husband, David, two rescue cats, and a rescued pit bull terrier.

Some of my passions include creative writing, reading, spending time in nature, and exploring new places and experiences through travel.
